About the League of Women Voters of Ohio

For more than 80 years, the League of Women Voters ("The League" has been a leader in working to ensure that all citizens have a free role in making democracy work.

In addition to these services, the League also:

  Recruits and develops members

Provides support to 33 local leagues across the state

Takes positions on on public policy matters

  Lobbies for policy changes

Encourages our grassroots members to lobby through action alerts

Collaborates with a number of citizen groups to influence elected officials

Working independently, and with other civic groups that share our interests, the League is dedicated to helping citizens become informed and active participants in government at all levels.

Year in and year out, the League provides many kinds of voter services and educational projects, such as:

  Voter registration drives

  Publications and brochures

  Nonpartisan candidate forums

On-line electronic voter information and candidate guides

  Nonpartisan issue forums

Presentations on radio, television and to school groups

Advocation for legislative positions it supports or opposes

The League of Women Voters of Ohio Education Fund currently meets all standards for charitable accountability established by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance (BBB/Central Ohio).
