For more than 80 years, the
League of Women Voters ("The League" has been a leader in
working to ensure that all citizens have a free role in making
democracy work.
In addition to these services, the League also:
Recruits and develops members
Provides support to 33 local leagues across the state
Takes positions on on public policy matters
Lobbies for policy changes
Encourages our grassroots members to lobby through
action alerts
Collaborates with a number of citizen groups to
influence elected officials
Working independently, and with other civic groups that share
our interests, the League is dedicated to helping citizens
become informed and active participants in government at all
levels.
Year in and year out, the League provides many kinds of voter
services and educational projects, such as:
Voter registration drives
Publications and brochures
Nonpartisan candidate forums
On-line electronic voter information and candidate
guides
Nonpartisan issue forums
Presentations on radio, television and to school
groups
Advocation for legislative
positions it supports or opposes

Women Voters of Ohio Education Fund currently meets
all standards for charitable accountability
established by the Better Business Bureau's Wise
Giving Alliance (BBB/Central Ohio). |
