Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Executive Director
Type of Position: This is a part-time position for 10 – 15 hours per week. It is a temporary 6-month position, with the potential to be promoted to a permanent position. You will be provided with a laptop to work from home during Ohio’s shelter-in-place order and in our downtown Columbus office once public health concerns are reduced.
Compensation: This is an hourly position, starting at rate/hour at $15/hour.
Requirements: We are looking for a skilled office professional. Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time, and strong computer skills are required. Experience in social media, online organizing tools, advocacy campaigns, website platforms like Wix, and CRM systems like Salsa Engage are a plus. The ideal candidate is dependable, outgoing, and willing to learn.
Respond in a prompt and professional manner to information requests from the board, volunteers, members, press, and the public.
Work with the board, office staff, and local Leagues around the state to ensure Voter Guides and Vote411 are published in a timely manner.
Assist with distribution of voter education materials.
Work with the director and advocacy specialists to send action alerts, newsletters, press releases, and other communications.
Ensure that social media channels are regularly updated with LWVO media hits, news articles relevant to advocacy, action alerts, educational and campaign graphics.
Work with staff and volunteers to plan major state events. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for events with advance notice.
Provide general administrative support to a busy office.
Other projects as assigned by senior staff.
