The League of Women Voters of Ohio seeks an 

Administrative Assistant

 

About Us: The League of Women Voters of Ohio is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation at the state and local levels with over 3500 members and 35 local Leagues across Ohio.

 

Reports to:  Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Ohio

Type of Position: This is a part-time position for 20 - 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday. All work, unless otherwise noted, is conducted in our downtown office. 
 

Compensation: This is an hourly position, starting at rate/hour at $18 - 20/hour. Parking will be provided. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for events with advance notice. 
 

Requirements: We are looking for a skilled office professional who can work with people of diverse backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time are required. Basic proficiency in Google workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) is required. Experience with databases, zoom, and website management is a plus.  The ideal candidate is dependable, outgoing, willing to learn, comfortable with technology, and thrives in a high-pace environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Respond in a professional manner to information requests from the board, volunteers, members, press, and the public.

  • Manages inventory and mailing of nonpartisan voter education materials in a timely manner. 

  • Assists in the maintenance of the membership database.

  • Help plan, implement, and evaluate online and in-person events.

  • Assist with management and tracking of donor, volunteer, and member information.

  • Keep the office clean, stocked, and organized. 

  • Provide general administrative support to a busy team.

ADA specifications: This position requires a mix of sedentary work performed in an office setting and more physical work in the field (including outdoors). The demands of this position include the ability to: use a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment; lift up to 20 pounds; participate in outdoor events; and some travel within Ohio (with a valid driver's license and personal vehicle).
