The League of Women Voters of Ohio seeks a Data and Communications Associate.

About Us: The League of Women Voters Ohio is a nonpartisan, political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. We were founded in 1920 to empower voters. Today, over 100 years later, we have nearly 4,000 members and 33 local units across the state. 

 

Reports to: Executive Director 

 

Type of Position: This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week. Most of the work will be conducted in our downtown office, though occasional work from home will be allowed. 

 

Compensation: This position will pay a salary of $33,000 - $35,000. A bus pass or parking stipend will be provided. Evening or weekend hours may be required with advance notice. 

 

Requirements: We are looking for a skilled professional who can work with people of diverse backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, and experience with media outreach is preferred. Attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time, and strong computer skills are required. Experience in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, website platforms like Wix, Zoom, and CRM systems like Salsa Engage are a plus. The ideal candidate is dependable, outgoing, willing to learn, passionate about civic engagement, and thrives in a high-pace, ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and distribute nonpartisan voter education print materials.

  • Create nonpartisan content and graphics for social media to encourage voting and civic engagement.

  • Work with development and membership teams to grow our donor and membership bases.

  • Develop and distribute materials to our members such as email and print newsletters.

  • Manage and maintain donor, volunteer, and member info in the CRM database.

  • Work on media outreach, including press release distribution, pitching stories to media, news tracking/monitoring, hosting media events, conducting rapid response, etc.

  • Help plan, implement, and evaluate online and in-person events, as needed.
