Peggy Berry - Peggy Ann Berry, PhD has worked in occupational safety and health since 1990, earning a Master in Nursing Science in 2007 followed by a doctorate in Nursing Research from University of Cincinnati in 2015. Peggy has been a League member since 2012. Peggy’s LWVGDA activities was inputting on the social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn but now broadened into initiating contacts within Dayton on Medicare for All and Food Pantry volunteers as VP of Community Services for the LWV of Greater Dayton Area. In addition to being the LWV Ohio volunteer lobbyist, she has been an environmental advocate since 2012, participating in EPA and OSHA requests for testimony on chemical transparency and Methane New Source Rules, collaborating across many NGO to promote clean water, air and tillable soil. She has presented and published on the human health effects of workplace bullying, climate change, lean ergonomics, servant leadership, and on research design. Dr. Berry received the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses’ (AAOHN) Lillian G. Cater Humanitarian Award in 2020 and inducted as a Fellow with AAOHN in 2021. She participates in AAOHN’s national legislative committee and the Ohio Nurses’ Association’s Health Policy Council and the Environmental and Community Health Caucus. She is a research associate with ReImagineAppalachia working on the “cost of doing nothing” related to health outcomes. She participates in “Ready for 100” and Ohio Equity Team with the Sierra Club and delves into clean water through the Alliance of Nurses for Health Environments and Freshwater Futures through the Great Lakes Network.
