Anna Banks Simeon
LWVO Board Director
Anna serves as Vice President of Voter Services with LWV Metro
Columbus where she leads members in more than twenty initiatives that
promote informed and active participation in government. Working with
other nonpartisan organizations, she has expanded reach in the
community and attracted new members. Retired, Anna evolved from
Engineer to corporate executive with most of her career spent with
International Business Machines (IBM). She has lived in various locations
across the country before returning to her native Ohio in 2020.
Her involvement extends to several boards and foundations, including
Habitat for Humanity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA),
Toastmasters International South Florida District, Community Unit School
District Home and School Boards, and School Family Community
Partnerships. Anna is an active member of the National Association of
Parliamentarians and holds celebrated membership status with AKA. As a former Area Director for Toastmasters International, she achieved the status of Distinguished Toastmaster. Anna held elected offices in Illinois where she led her township to pass legislation to block Citizens United. For her work bridging divides between universities and the broader Nashville community she was awarded Honorary Member of the House of Representatives and Honorary Sargent at Arms in Tennessee.
She earned her B.A. from Vanderbilt University and completed executive leadership training at IBM, along with master’s studies at Miami University and George Washington University. Pleased to call Columbus home, Anna looks forward to continuing her work with LWVO to tackle the challenges facing democracy that hinder voter participation and diminish the state of Ohio.
