Help Shape Nelsonville’s Future: Share Your Thoughts on New Ward Boundaries

Nelsonville is drawing new ward boundaries—and your voice matters.

Last year, the residents of Nelsonville voted to return to a statutory form of government, which requires the city to be divided into four wards. In response, the City Council has chosen to remain neutral in the redistricting process and has invited the League of Women Voters of Ohio and the League of Women Voters of Athens County to convene a transparent, community-centered process to develop a ward map proposal.

The goal is simple: create fair, legal, and representative wards that reflect Nelsonville’s diverse communities and ensure every voice is heard.

We want to hear from YOU—residents, workers, and community members who care about Nelsonville's future. What neighborhoods feel connected? Where do you think the boundaries should fall? What should we keep in mind to ensure fair representation?

💬 Use the comment section below to share your input. Your feedback will directly inform how we shape the draft map and help us ensure this process reflects the values and needs of the Nelsonville community.

Together, we can draw a map that works for everyone.
